Weather changes and cancellation on an Antalya yacht charter
Read marine forecasts as planning information, then rely on the captain's operational assessment and your booking's written change and cancellation terms.
- The short answerCheck dated marine forecasts, obtain the operator's written update, and judge any change, cancellation or payment outcome only under your accepted booking terms.
Weather planning for a yacht charter begins by separating a general holiday forecast from conditions relevant to navigation. The Turkish State Meteorological Service publishes a marina forecast for Antalya and a daily marine report, while Antalya's official circular places operational responsibility with operators and captains and addresses decisions in adverse meteorological conditions. These sources inform preparation; they do not guarantee conditions at a particular minute, replace the captain's assessment or decide the financial outcome of your booking. No forecast on this page is a promise that the sea will remain calm.
Read the marine information as a dated set, not a single sunny icon. Note when the forecast was issued, the period it covers, and whether the displayed time is local or uses another reference. Review wind direction and speed, gust or gale wording, wave information, weather and visibility together. The marina page can give location-focused time steps, while the daily report describes broader sea regions and periods. A broad regional statement and a marina panel answer different planning questions; neither alone establishes the exact conditions along a proposed route.
Use different questions at different stages. Well before the date, the sensible task is to understand the written booking rules, not to seek a precise sailing verdict from a long-range forecast. Closer to departure, ask which official update the operator is monitoring and when the next communication is expected. On the day, follow the named operator's message about meeting, transfer and boarding. There is no universal fixed decision hour that applies to every yacht, route and weather event, and this guide does not create one.
Possible operational responses can include continuing as planned, delaying, modifying an element, postponing or cancelling, but this list is not a promise that every option will be available. The captain and operator assess the vessel, route, guests and current conditions within their responsibilities. A different bay, sheltered route, replacement time or replacement vessel must never be assumed. Ask what is being proposed in writing and what happens to the price and services under your agreed terms. The financial result depends on the specific cancellation and weather clauses accepted for that booking.
Keep the question tied to the actual MY FREEDOM product. MY FREEDOM operates only from Kundu in two fixed programmes, 09:30–15:00 and 15:00–20:30, for one private group totalling 1–12 guests including children. Neither the daytime nor the later programme carries a guarantee of calm water, a fixed route outcome or uninterrupted conditions. Before payment, record the named vessel, Kundu departure, boarding arrangement, selected programme, proposed operational route, total price, included services, and the precise cancellation and weather-change terms for your date.
Transfer arrangements also need written treatment when weather creates uncertainty. Return hotel transfer within Kundu is included in the published MY FREEDOM scope; pickup or return outside Kundu is separately priced and agreed. Do not assume a delayed, changed or cancelled marine programme automatically changes a vehicle booking, hotel plan or another supplier's service. Ask the operator where and when an update will be sent and how the confirmed transfer is handled under the same booking terms. An optional service applies only when it appears in the written confirmation.
A different route or duration, special equipment, a west-coast operation, an overnight stay or more than 12 guests is outside the standard MY FREEDOM product. Such a request requires a selected partner vessel named in a separate written quotation. Its operating area, weather exposure, captain's assessment, transfer plan and cancellation provisions are vessel- and offer-specific. Do not carry MY FREEDOM's timetable or terms across to it, and do not assume that a partner can provide a substitute route, calmer sea, special equipment or a refund merely because one was requested.
Before paying, save one written record covering the contracting party, named vessel, departure area, exact boarding details, programme and duration, proposed operational route, total price, inclusions and exclusions, contact channel for updates, cancellation terms and the consequences of a weather-led change. If a change is later proposed, request the revised time, programme, vessel, price and financial treatment in writing before accepting it. There is no universal refund or rescheduling policy in this guide. The accepted booking terms govern the outcome, while forecasts remain useful evidence for planning rather than a guarantee or final operational decision.

Common questions
How are the vessel and programme confirmed?
Before payment, the written quote names the vessel, departure marina, boarding and return times, and proposed route.
What is included in the price?
Nothing is assumed for a bespoke request or partner vessel. The written quote lists meals, drinks, fuel, harbour costs, transfers and any extra charges.
Can the route change?
Yes. The captain confirms a safe plan for the actual sea, weather and harbour instructions, and may change the route or stops when needed.
How is guest capacity confirmed?
Capacity is confirmed for the selected vessel in the written quote; larger groups may require a different vessel.
