Kekova or Suluada: Which Boat Trip Fits?
Choose between two very different coastal ideas by identifying your main interest first, then comparing only named vessels and complete written proposals.
- The short answerChoose Kekova for a confirmed culture-led plan or Suluada for a confirmed nature-and-water plan, but pay only against a named vessel’s complete written offer.
Kekova and Suluada should not be compared as two versions of the same boat trip. The first decision is what the group wants the day to mean. Kekova is relevant when the priority is a protected cultural landscape and archaeological context viewed as part of a coastal plan. Suluada belongs to a nationally protected natural setting and is usually considered for a water-led coastal request. Neither name tells you where your yacht will depart, which vessel will operate, what access is possible or what the price includes. Those facts begin with a real quotation.
Neither destination is one of MY FREEDOM's fixed Kundu programmes. MY FREEDOM operates only from Kundu at 09:30–15:00 and 15:00–20:30 for one private group of 1–12 guests in total, including children. A request for Kekova or Suluada therefore requires a selected partner vessel named in a separate written quotation. The offer must state the actual departure and boarding point, schedule, proposed operational route, total price and inclusions. Any special equipment must be stated in that same written quotation for the selected partner vessel. Do not stretch a Kundu programme across the map or assume one partner vessel serves both ideas.
Choose Kekova when cultural context is the non-negotiable interest. The official heritage source describes a wider area containing coastal archaeological remains and settlements; it does not promise a particular view, landing, guided visit or swim. Ask the proposal to distinguish passage by the archaeological shore, any planned land access and any separate swimming element. Water clarity, viewing angle, access rules and the operating plan may differ on the day. A photograph of submerged remains cannot establish what your named vessel may do or what the accepted quotation contains.
Choose Suluada when the protected natural setting and time on the water lead the request. The regional national-parks source provides the public conservation context, not a private-yacht itinerary. It does not guarantee a beach landing, anchoring position, water colour, visibility, wildlife encounter or swimming stop. Ask what the selected vessel proposes for the actual date and which instructions govern access. Do not convert a popular destination label into a promise of empty water, a fixed sequence or unlimited time at a particular point.
Test both ideas against the people travelling. A guest interested mainly in archaeology may accept a different balance between passage, observation and shore time from a family focused on entering the water. Send the complete guest count, children's ages, swimming confidence, motion sensitivity, mobility or boarding needs and any dietary requirement before the vessel is selected. Ask how non-swimmers can use the day and what access stages require checking. Neither destination name guarantees a calm sea, easy boarding, shade, child equipment, snorkelling gear or a suitable landing.
Keep transport separate from the experience comparison. Record the accommodation area and request the exact confirmed meeting place, pickup arrangement, boarding instruction and return destination for each proposal; request separate accessibility details for every stage. Round-trip hotel transfer within Kundu belongs only to the two published MY FREEDOM programmes; it does not automatically apply to a partner vessel for Kekova or Suluada. Any transfer must be written and priced within that offer. Avoid deciding from estimated road times, and do not assume that the nearest-looking map point is an authorised or practical boarding place.
The Governorate circular gives public operating context, but the captain and operator still assess the named vessel, current conditions and proposed plan. A route shown during enquiry is not a guarantee that every element will happen in the same order or location. Before payment, read the weather-change, cancellation and communication terms. Ask which contracting party takes payment and which current passenger limit applies to the vessel. Official destination pages explain why a place matters; they do not certify the commercial offer or settle a dispute about services.
Finish with a one-sentence priority and two complete offers. Write either “our main interest is Kekova's cultural landscape” or “our main interest is a Suluada water-focused day”, then add date, guests, accommodation, access and food needs. Compare named vessel, departure, boarding, schedule, proposed route, total price, inclusions, transfer, payment, cancellation and weather terms. Treat any optional extra as included only when the written offer confirms it. Choose only the proposal that answers the priority without unsupported promises. The right result may be Kekova, Suluada or neither; a truthful mismatch is better than booking the more famous name on incomplete assumptions.

Common questions
How are the vessel and programme confirmed?
Before payment, the written quote names the vessel, departure marina, boarding and return times, and proposed route.
What is included in the price?
Nothing is assumed for a bespoke request or partner vessel. The written quote lists meals, drinks, fuel, harbour costs, transfers and any extra charges.
Can the route change?
Yes. The captain confirms a safe plan for the actual sea, weather and harbour instructions, and may change the route or stops when needed.
How is guest capacity confirmed?
Capacity is confirmed for the selected vessel in the written quote; larger groups may require a different vessel.
