Yacht charter in Phaselis

an ancient trading city organised around three harbours

About Phaselis

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism describes Phaselis as an ancient trading city with three harbours, a paved main street, a theatre, agoras and a Roman-period water system. Any view from a private yacht is quote-led; vessel, departure, route, timing and possible shore access require written confirmation.

Getting there

A Phaselis yacht request is planned independently of the archaeological-site visit. It is not a fixed MY FREEDOM departure from Kundu. The team checks a selected partner vessel, a practical boarding point and a route that fits the requested date. The written offer must identify the vessel, departure, schedule, route, price and inclusions. It must also say clearly whether any landing or site visit is available; neither is implied by an offshore view.

The water

The official museum description confirms that historic Phaselis was organised around three harbours, but that fact does not make every harbour a permitted yacht stop. The skipper and site authorities determine current access, separation from archaeological remains and any safe swimming opportunity. Conditions can change. We therefore make no promise about anchoring, depth, visibility, beach access or swimming among ruins. The operator should record the feasible water programme in the written plan.

Through the season

Plan around the actual date rather than a generic summer formula. Sea state, weather, daylight, partner-vessel availability and current site arrangements all affect what can be offered. Opening times and visitor procedures for Phaselis are published by the official museum service and may change, so check that source near the visit. If sea access or a shore component is not practical, request a revised route before accepting the quotation.

What you are looking at

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism dates the foundation of Phaselis by Rhodian colonists to 690 BC and describes maritime trade as its main income. It records three harbours, membership of the Lycian League in 167 BC, Roman rule from 43 BC and a visit by Emperor Hadrian in AD 129. The official site also identifies the paved main street, theatre, agoras, baths and Roman water-distribution works among the surviving urban features.

Worth knowing

Keep the yacht arrangement and archaeological admission as two separately confirmed parts of the day. Ask the operator to state the vessel, boarding point, route, duration, capacity, price, payments, cancellation terms and all inclusions. Then consult the official Phaselis page for current opening and ticket information. Wear suitable footwear if a lawful shore visit is confirmed, respect barriers and staff directions, and do not assume that swimming ashore or touching submerged remains is allowed.

Common questions

How are the vessel and programme confirmed?

Before payment, the written quote names the vessel, departure marina, boarding and return times, and proposed route.

What is included in the price?

Nothing is assumed for a bespoke request or partner vessel. The written quote lists meals, drinks, fuel, harbour costs, transfers and any extra charges.

Can the route change?

Yes. The captain confirms a safe plan for the actual sea, weather and harbour instructions, and may change the route or stops when needed.

How is guest capacity confirmed?

Capacity is confirmed for the selected vessel in the written quote; larger groups may require a different vessel.
