About Alanya
Alanya’s historic peninsula brings the castle walls, Red Tower and thirteenth-century Seljuk shipyard into one coastal view, showing how fortification and maritime activity shaped the same harbourfront. This is not a MY FREEDOM route: its fixed programmes depart only from Kundu. An Alanya request uses a selected partner vessel. The vessel, actual departure and boarding point, schedule, route, price, inclusions, and any berth, swim or land visit must be confirmed before booking or payment in a separate written offer.
Getting there
Alanya’s historic peninsula, castle slopes and harbourfront create a recognisable coastal profile, but this page does not promise a berth, anchorage or landing. MY FREEDOM’s fixed programmes depart only from Kundu, and Alanya is not one of those routes. An Alanya request is planned with a selected partner vessel. Before booking or payment, its separate written offer must name the vessel, actual departure and boarding point, schedule, route, price, inclusions and intended stops. Harbour instructions, traffic, weather and the captain’s safety assessment still determine what is practical on the day.
The water
The sea around Alanya includes both exposed headlands and more managed harbour areas, so conditions are not uniform along the coast. Swimming suitability, visibility and vessel movement can change by location and day. The captain should choose any water activity after checking the actual situation and local harbour directions. Guests should not infer a swimming stop beside a monument or a shore transfer merely because the landmark appears close on a map.
Through the season
Alanya's architecture can be appreciated throughout the travel year, while the marine programme remains dependent on daylight, current forecast and local operations. No month promises light winds, empty viewpoints or identical access. Before booking, establish whether the proposal is a sightseeing passage, a conditional swim or a land visit, and ask how the route changes if conditions around the peninsula or harbour do not support the original idea.
What you are looking at
Two firmly dated Seljuk monuments define Alanya's harbour landscape. Sultan Alaeddin Keykubad I commissioned the Red Tower, completed in 1226, as part of the city's defences. The nearby Seljuk shipyard followed in 1228, with five vaulted bays beside the water. Seen together, the structures show how defence and maritime activity shaped the same waterfront. Plan a sea view and a monument visit as different activities unless the operator confirms a combined arrangement.
